When they need legal representation, they see it the same way. While minor legal work is sometimes of minimal importance, most people are in real peril when they interact with the judicial system. Whatever the case may be, there is a lot at stake for the client. It could be money, property, business success, or even freedom. As a rule, the average citizen knows very little ab out the law.
Generally, the most legal education that people normally have is whatever they retain from their various interactions with the law, be that a speeding ticket, a real estate purchase, or service as the executor of an estate. Consequently, clien ts are at the mercy of people who know more about the law than they do, and they are aware of that. They are counting on an attorney to look out for their needs and make sure they are treated fairly. As a result, they want representation with a strong repu tation for ethical, quality work. Other cases materialize unexpectedly. We have a car accident and need immediate help in recovering financial losse s, or someone has diverted rainwater runoff onto our property and caused erosion.

Accidents involving tractor-trailers tend to be very serious and costly, so a lawyer is sought after by the victims who can't afford their medical bills. Ask them how this can be perceived as bad, when these people so desperately needed--and received--service. If someone begins telling lawyer jokes or being inappropriate, you have two choices.
You can politely listen to the joke. Or, you can kindly explain that those types of jokes hurt and promote stereotypes. In her spare time she loves to try new dishes in the kitchen and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Amanda- Great post. When I hear or see lawyers "joking" about these topics and actually telling stories to help promote these myths, it makes me sad.
Rule 7.3 Solicitation of Clients
We work hard to help people and to fight corporate greed and companies that put profits over people. One way lawyers can now share their true story on social is to be themselves. Talk about their family, passions and weekend soccer games. Discuss concerns about a particular law or case and why this harms the consumer. Use easy to understand words and metaphors to make your point.
Be real and be honest. Build trust and rapport with your clients and friends. Tell a client what you're going to do and then do MORE. Doing all of this will help displace these myths. I'm off my soapbox.
