I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart Reflected in You Gideon Cross.
Perhaps because of the shortness of the story I did not really feel the chemistry between Jack and Rachel. It seemed that they came together too fast, that it was just lust. I did not like how Rachel threw herself at Jack, it was a turn-off. I found Rachel also confusing. There were things she said about the relationship with her deceased husband that made me wonder if she had ever truly been passionately in love with him but then she turns around and tells Jack that if her husband were still alive that there would be nothing with Jack.
Oct 08, Brooke rated it it was ok. So 2 stars, for me, means I liked it. Jack is a US Marshall. Rachel is the widow of one of Jack's best friends. Jack is Rachel's son's godfather. It is unclear how Jack and Steve Rachel's deceased husband even knew each other, which kind of bothered me. Jack is, naturally, 3 Stars is the max I can give for a novella. Jack is, naturally, a troubled soul and an alpha male. And Rachel is, naturally, the fresh and pure female who will be his salvation.
They come together and it's hot, in typical Ms. Day fashion. They decide to work on a relationship because they are both in love with each other. I should probably stop reading novellas because I need MORE from a story than some quick fucking and immediate soul mates But if you like novellas and you have a half hour to spare, this is a good, quick story that should get your panties wet and your heart pumping. Razor's Edge is a short but great read that follows Jack and Rachel as they try to find their way to one another.
Rachel is the widow of one of Jack's oldest friends, and Jack is tormented by the feelings that he has always had for Rachel. The story that ensues when these two characters finally come face to face together is very engaging, and will have you ready to find out how it all ends for them. This story provides another great mix between having a great story, truly fantastic characters, an Razor's Edge is a short but great read that follows Jack and Rachel as they try to find their way to one another.
This story provides another great mix between having a great story, truly fantastic characters, and some fun scenes that definitely wishing you knew someone like Jack. Sylvia Day does another fantastic job of creating characters that are so real and dynamic that you feel you can practically see them right in front of you.
The emotional journey all of her characters go through is truly well done. This story moves quickly, and will have you needing to know how it all ends. Razor's Edge is another great Shadow Stalker story, and it will leave you wanting more from this amazing series and author. Dec 28, Kathy rated it liked it Shelves: romance , special-forces. She just needed to start somewhere. Jun 04, Nishtha rated it liked it. You know when you read a book's preview and your realize this is the one and also you have it on your shelf 'Want to read' , well you read it then suddenly the book is too fast paced for you. You love the story , you absolutely love the protagonists but , yeah , there is a big bulging but. It is toooo rushed for you like running before you come around the story Really, I liked it, loved it even but the story! I think it would get a five star from if Ma'am Day had written more about the You know when you read a book's preview and your realize this is the one and also you have it on your shelf 'Want to read' , well you read it then suddenly the book is too fast paced for you.
I think it would get a five star from if Ma'am Day had written more about then in the beggining of the story like meeting, dating, etc Jumping directly to the favourite thing was not really mirthful.
The book became dull. Apr 24, Clarke rated it liked it Shelves: contemporary-romance , e-library , short-story , borrowed , cop-pi-merc-fbi. When I started reading this I didn't realize it was a short story. This was also going to be my last book by this author. When I read her work I get more misses then hits. Since this was part of a series I didn't realize it would be so short until I hit the end.
Despite my disappointment that it was so short I enjoyed the book. The female character was strong, knew what she wanted, and was willing to fight for it. I'd love to see a full length book. I'm not 2. I'm not sure I'll be reading the other books in this series Dec 02, Sereneblaze rated it liked it Shelves: romance-adult-erotica. Was looking for another series to get into and realized that I had yet to read this one but accidently read the second book in the series first. And now I finally got a hold of the first one. As with most of Ms.
Day's works I liked it quiet a bit. There's the alpha male part of a very elite team of agent, unrequited love, tension, daring and cake. Really the only problem with this short story is how short it is. The second one in the series was much longer than this first installment which was pr Was looking for another series to get into and realized that I had yet to read this one but accidently read the second book in the series first.
The second one in the series was much longer than this first installment which was probably why I was expecting more.

Definitely going to be continuing the series. Dec 06, Desiree rated it liked it Shelves: contemporary-romance. Very short book. As usual, the writing style is very good. But, there wasn't much to it. It was almost literally, 'a day in the life of'. There are more books in the series, but they focus on a different couple. And since this one was so brief with nothing much happening other than some memories, a fuck, and a birthday party, I don't think I'll bother with the rest.
No point. So, well written, but overly short and sweet. Sep 30, Nicole rated it really liked it. Jack and Rachel have a lovely story. What I love most is that Rachel goes after what she wants. It's refreshing when the female character has confidence and it only adds to her physical beauty.
See a Problem?
I won't ruin this story for anyone. There isn't an underlying car chase or action sequence like the next 2 books in the series but Ms. Sylvia Day does not know how to write a bad sex scene. Jack and Rachel burn up the sheets. Great quick read! May 15, Marisa rated it really liked it. Library Request, what's there to say about Sylvia Day's writing style.

She elicits the most erotic feelings but in a tasteful manner, and not a dirty erotic, not to say she doesn't write with grit because she does, I just prefer her writing style a sap opposed to the Blackstone collection. Great novella. Dec 17, Ashley Nelson rated it liked it Shelves: novella , contemporary-romance , library-ebook. Felt like I'd opened a book and started reading in the middle at the good stuff. I liked the writing and the characters, but felt detached. I did like the heroine for being ballsy and forward. Rather tame compared to other Sylvia Day books, and overall, completely forgettable.
This is just a tiny little book that how two people get together. It is suppose to be a series but I don't think I am going back for more even it the books only take about 1. Mar 03, Jennifer rated it it was ok Shelves: series-1st-book-only , shadow-stalkers-series , nh-online-library. I get that this is supposed to be a short story, but where's the story?
Was nothing but sex. I guess if you need a quickie 1 hour read then this is for you. Won't even bother with the rest in this series. Oct 02, Teri rated it really liked it. Great little short and steamy story. I love Sylvia Day's writing it just sucks you in and with this one it was a super fast read! Sep 15, Argyle Doll rated it really liked it. I enjoyed the fact that it was a quick read. Sylvia Day never disappoints when it comes to creating a steamy book. If you have enjoyed her previous works, then you will love this one!

Sep 24, Niquie rated it liked it Shelves: romance-erotica. Short and sweet. I like that Rachel had a good first marriage, and how she explained her reasoning for getting involved with Jack. It was refreshing and made sense. Sep 06, Michelle marked it as to-read Shelves: wishlist. September 24,
