Max is her ticket out of her dead-end job at Pulse, the entertainment news website where she works. If she can pull off an expose on Max and reveal his high society client list, it would launch her floundering career into the stratosphere. Max was as sharp as they come and always three steps ahead of her attempts to infiltrate his business. He knew right from the very start what her game was with him and he was upfront with her about what he knew.
There was no entrapment or duplicity going on while their feelings were forming. This is something that tends to bother me in general. On the opposing side, I did feel as if Max was a bit too hard to read for my taste for much of the book. Even past the halfway point, it was hard to get a handle on what his true emotions and reactions were towards Eden. Because life was the ultimate stage and he was the star player, I was having to distinguish what was real. Eden was one tough woman to crack.
She was carrying loads of resentment and hurt from her past, and that was a heavy burden to overcome. As we see Max start to open up to her, she held her heart behind a locked door, unwilling to share the key. Not only is she distrustful of him because of his career choices, as a man she couldn't trust him any more than the losers she gives her time to. She's made a habit of keeping all of her relationships casual, with men who aren't a risk to her peace of mind. But Max is able to see through her defense mechanisms and show her that risk is worthwhile when the reward is worth fighting for.
He cups my face and urges me to look into his eyes. Not only owning up to his past mistakes, he was trying to make amends the only way he knew how. Trying to make a difference and become a person that he could be proud of. And though Eden's eyes are opened as well, it may be too late to back out of this story that her future in journalism hinges on.
Honestly, I wasn't sure how these two would realistically overcome the situation they found themselves in, but I think the author pulled it off with flying colors. All of my initial questions over Max's motivations and emotions were laid to rest. I was extremely impressed with Leisa Rayven's storytelling abilities, and her capability in creating realistically human characters in a very out of the ordinary plot.
This book was unpredictably funny, super flirty, fast-paced, and high on entertainment value. Without a doubt, I would read more in the future from this author, and most especially any future books in this series. She's hooked a new reader in me, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. View all 4 comments. Jul 13, Dilek VT rated it liked it Shelves: male-escort. Romance is an irresistibly handsome and hot escort who makes the romantic fantasies of unhappy women come to life.
You just name it and Max makes even the better version of it happen. When our heroine, Eden, who is a journalist, starts to investigate him, Max is desperate to protect his anonymity and his clients. His clients are all elite, rich and famous. At the beginning of the book, there is a good mystery about who Max is and how and why he does what he does and I liked it. However, when all his secrets were revealed, I had a hard time to understand and accept his reasoning. If you ask me, he could have been a successful musician, earning as much money with that music skills and education of him, instead of choosing this way.
The thing he does to earn money and his reasoning sounds a little bit unrealistic and OTT to me. This is a book hard to rate because I enjoyed some parts of it immensely but as I tried to explain, it did disappoint me on some levels. Writing: The tone of writing is good, there is humor in most inner monologues and dialogues. Expression of feelings is also successful. I have disdain for women who fall apart over men. If you buy a ticket on the Love Express, it comes with compulsory stops at Painville, The Isle of Co-Dependence, and Betrayal Central, so why get onboard in the first place?
Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor. Fortune favors the brave. Big risks lead to big rewards. Also, the sexual tension built all through the chapters is incredible.
- Works of Sylvanus Stall.
- ‘Tis The Season of Love?
- Mister Love - Wikipedia.
However, the sexual tension stays unresolved for the majority of the book and it starts to annoy after a while, the two of them being so stubborn and all. Eden is so afraid of feelings and relationships that she only does hook-ups and one-night-stands. When they start to fall for each other, Max insists on a real relationship with feelings and all but she denies it, saying there could only be sex between them. Max refuses to give it for a long while, saying he is in for all or none. Ergo, one of the slowest burns of all! It is kind of dragging and annoying at the same time : So, when do they surrender?
So just 50 pages before it finishes! And was it worth the wait and was the sexual tension built successfully so far released in the same strong and powerful way? So to cut it short, it is just a book which both entertained and annoyed me! View all 16 comments. Jun 04, 1-Click Addict Support Group rated it it was amazing. A sexy escort to fulfill my dreams, heck yes, put my name down!!
Needing to come up with a new story Eden goes in search of Mister Romance himself to be write a juicy story on him. Max needing to protect his identity at all cost asks Eden to give him a chance. If she doesn't fall for him then she can publish his story but if she does she will not publish it. The banter between them at first is eh, but the more time they spend together the more sparks start shooting out. Eden's stubbornness had me A sexy escort to fulfill my dreams, heck yes, put my name down!! Eden's stubbornness had me cringing a couple of times because I kept thinking for sure that she was going to mess up her chance with Max.
But Max doesn't give up on her slowly breaking down those walls she's built around her heart. I will say that the last couple of chapters had me cringing and having panic attacks because I wasn't sure if they were going to survive. Another amazing story from Ms Rayven and am looking forward to what's next from her. Apr 30, Bindi Boo rated it it was amazing Shelves: must-read , worth-your-time-reads. All romantically with NO sex- for those with limits He makes them swoon, sigh with lust and brings them out on the best dates possible. Little does she know, she soon becomes said swoony, lusty, romantic l 5 sweet, sexy stars Much as the blurb says, Eden Tate sets upon getting an interview with Mister Romance, a man that makes your fantasy come true. Little does she know, she soon becomes said swoony, lusty, romantic lady. My gosh, this author.. Its like she's sitting in my head and writing out all those little pesky thoughts we generally have about love and romance. I had my own disbelief and was obviously cynical with Mister Romance's philosophies but boy did i fall hook, line and sinker.
And then the real story starts.. The hero is sexy, smart and just the most sweetest thing to ever happen to Eden. I loved it that it was him who made her believe in love. I loved that he taught her it was ok to rely on someone else at times. Eden and the hero have some sad past but i like how they overcame it with so much strength. There were a few moments i thought this guy just went above and beyond for his dates and had to suspend my logic, but it worked Love this book Leisa and as always, i love your writing. You have reaffirmed that love will heal everything and anything.

First off the blurb was awesome, when you read the summary it what really hooks the readers to try and check it out, that did it for me. When we hear the word escort, we totally associate it with sex right? I mean they are like high standardized version of hooker it you know what I mean. So when Eden Tate's job was on the rocks, what more juicy scope of a story more interesting than this passes it off.
This isn't the normal escort service we are talking about here, Mr. Romance, that's what they First off the blurb was awesome, when you read the summary it what really hooks the readers to try and check it out, that did it for me. Romance, that's what they call him, has a high profile clientele he caters and Eden wants an in. The only problem is Mr. Romance is just a myth she heard from person to person, and so the hunting begins, Little does she know that she is in for a good surprise. In here it gets really tricky, when I first met the Irish dude I had a gut feeling it was Mr.
Romance already, turns out I was right. Why you say tricky I said, well you should read it for yourselves darlings. Romance is not the normal type of escort you have heard of, he specializes in every girl's fantasy, you wanted a guy to be a badass biker he can be one, a billionaire tycoon check, hot geek or anything that comes into your tin can he can deliver. Eden was so into target and wanted to discover his identity and expose how crazy his MO sounds like, you see Eden does not believe in the "L" word.
Max wanted to fix the problem and struck a deal with Eden, the only problem was, well you guessed it, someone fell in love, And surprisingly it was Max. I was so laughing at the turn of events but Eden is one hard coconut to crack. Romance is a safe read tho, HEA and damn it if there is cheating involved. Review Midnight Romance Confession time! I'm conflicted to read this book at first. This was my first read from Leisa Rayven. The title and blurb sounds cheesy and so girly. Yikes, but the cover is totally eye-catching and won my heart. Anyway, I almost DNF this right away because the heroine was sooo unlikable.
But I survived when I have my answers. Eden Tate is your ordinary woman with insecurities issues. I quite liked her in person. She's non-believer of love and rel 3. She's non-believer of love and relationship. But she has really ugly taste with men in her one night stand. Eden has a sister who has opposite side of her. They're really a tight and loving sibling. What I hate the most is the hate and love relationship with her job.
With constant snapping of her boss, Eden needs something scandalous. Eden came across Mister Romance's story and decided to expose him. She thinks he's a con-artist with sweet talk to earn money. He's very private person at first. Of course, because Eden is like blood thirsting leech with her judgmental thinking. Max decided to give Eden the experience of Mister Romance.

With her issues, Eden confidence to not falling for Max. I admit the plot was promising with the whole fantasy boyfriend. You could hire Max for whatever your wish but still there's some rules. No sex with clients; only kissing. I think Max did great job to melt Eden's cold heart. He seems sincere and natural with her. Also Eden really enjoyed her time with Max.
The sparks between them feels real. When they have sex, uhm.. I could say it isn't my style but still acceptable. The story was nicely written but dragging a bit with Eden and Max's constant tug-of-war. When they spilled the past, I was like.. Uhm, Okay. Also there's a bit insta-love between them and totally predictable. But I'm glad it isn't end with wedding and baby. They're barely know each other. Max already sacrificed many things to be with Eden. Even she redeemed herself in the end despite the jealousy and trust issues. Overall, Mister Romance is an okay read for me.
Not really memorable but Max is swoon-worthy enough. Apr 23, Lucia marked it as dnf. My another problem was that I didn't feel the romance and connection. And even Mrs. Rayven's legendary couple chemistry that I loved so much in her previous books wasn't very potent in this book; I dare to say that it was missing completely in the first half of the book that I managed to read. No one is more sorry than me that I had to put this novel on my DNF shelf. View all 6 comments. The way it made me FEEL! These characters, Max and Eden No question You never have been. And even if you were, I'd break every fucking rule I've ever held sacred to just be inside you right now. Together and separately, these two people stole my heart. I was so invested, that their pain became mine. Their joy became mine. And every single high and low became mine. You're essential.
Mister Romance, have a way with words. You guys, I highlighted damn near every quote in this book. Each word, each page, each chapter spoke to me on such a level, that I was so incredibly sad when I got to the end. But that sadness was quickly erased, with the promise of what's to come. I have a feeling that Ms. If this was just the beginning, OMG! I can't wait to see what Leisa brings to the table next! I'll be first in line to devour anything and everything this woman writes! I liked this story for the majority of the book.
Then, it felt like it hit hyper-speed and things were happening between the two MCs too fast. The pacing later in the book just didn't match the slow-burn pacing of the beginning of the book. Unfortunately, I began to lose interest with the sudden change in affection. Otherwise, a pretty good read. Apr 25, AJ rated it it was amazing Shelves: steamy , pb-i-own-signed , arc , romantic. I already suspected that Leisa Rayven could do no wrong, and she has proven herself yet again with this amazing book! Wonderful characters, great dynamics, sensational banter and dialogue, and a gorgeous, chemistry-filled love story with just the right amount of angst.
Eden Tate is a journalist — a wannabe investigative journalist who is actually stuck writing click-bait pieces while she waits for her big shot at something more. Mister Romance is actually Max Riley. And when Max catches wind of Eden and her plans, he goes on the defensive to protect the anonymity of his clients, and his very livelihood. Quick-witted and funny with great banter and chemistry, I revelled in every moment.
But you? I intend to put some meat back on your bones. Make you believe in something other than a bleak apocalypse. Everyone wants to feel special, whether we admit it or not. Or at least, what it should be about. Everything else just gets in the way. Sometimes believing our lives can be different is the only thing that keeps us going. You know, to perv on your own hotness? Do you ever take off your shirt and caress your breasts, just for the hell of it? When I get stressed, I cup my boobs and give them a reassuring squeeze.
I felt everything that was building between Eden and Max, my heart was pounding as the romance developed, and there is the perfect amount of angst to keep you frantically flipping pages without it becoming annoying. And the love story is beautiful, passionate and incredibly heartfelt. But I was captivated as it all unfolded. The one people fall in love with. Her writing is sharp, engaging and emotive and sucked me in from the very beginning.
And of course the love story is fun, passionate and heart-poundingly intense. From start to finish this book is a wonderful reading experience, and a must read for contemporary romance fans. Incredibly entertaining and funny with this great mix of tension that had me on the edge of my seat. I was so excited while reading because I had to know all the things.
Mister Romance is officially one of my Top Reads of ! I adored Eden and Max! Eden was so stubborn and cynical. Meeting Max and trying to understand why he does what he does just created this epic story. Max is so sweet a This was so incredibly phenomenal. Max is so sweet and sexy! The build to their relationship aligning was perfection.
I would literally catch myself holding my breath as I absorbed all the details. There is so much angst and tension between them, they have this amazing chemistry and I loved their interactions. I loved all these little glimpses into Max and I couldn't wait to learn more about him. I absorbed every detail and every look he gave Eden pretty much made me melt. Max is just this amazing man and learning why he was Mister Romance was heartbreaking and humbling. I loved him! There were just so many awesome, romantic moments that had me swooning. They both had some fantastic raw and vulnerable moments.
Honestly, I just ate it all up. It crazy to say because I knew there'd be an HEA, but Leisa Rayven legitimately had me stressing out and second guessing everything because by the end I was a mess. And then bam! Excellent everything! The writing, hero and heroine, secondary character, development, and build. Stellar details. The fact that this is told from Eden POV really added to everything as well.

Apr 20, Pick a Book rated it it was amazing Shelves: arc-received , review-english , review-portugues. Leisa Rayven became one of those authors for me. And, as expected, it did not disappoint. And she also creates the best book boyfriends ever! I fell in love with Ethan. Later, when Liam came, I thought he would be the love of my life. But then Max came to my life As a chance to grow in her career she decides to pursue the tip she got about the mysterious Mister Romance.
After a lot of searching, Eden discovers that this famous romantic is called Max. Then begins her request to get an interview with him. Max is a man who works in providing romantic dating for women. Eden is skeptical, so Max tries to prove to her that his job is not to sleep with women, take advantage of them, and then he decides to show Eden what he really does on those dates. I confess that when I read about Max's work I was kinda skeptical too. Do not get me wrong, I was enjoying the story a lot, but I didn't think I would agree with his methods.
And as much as we have this preconception at first, Max is really good at what he does. I mean, he's loveble!!! What we get when we read this book is the best kind of romance. Eden is the type of character I love: decided, she does what she wants, not even caring for the opinion of others. Her problem is that she doesn't believe so much in eternal love and that makes her time with Max even better.
Despite being very tough and ironic in the beginning, there is no one who can resist Max. What about Max? Guys, he is perfect! Why does Leisa do that? Why does she create these men to melt our hearts and make us fall in love if when we get out of that trance of the book we realize that they are only there? It's not fair with my non-existent future husband. How am I going to get married at this life having these men to look up to? The first few pages got me hooked. I loved the text, the dialogues.
